She's Always the Woman to Me

There are a lot of components to gender, in the real world more so since we have stereotypical roles to fill.  Breaking down gender roles has been a fight for women, especially over the last century or so. That's ongoing, with things like the wage gap and the glass ceiling, never mind the treatment of those who want to start families. Gender became a different creature, and it's eye opening to read the items that are out there by those who've transitioned genders and gone back into the same work space.

When we step into a virtual space, gender takes a different meaning. The only body people have to judge is the one that the individual builds, there's no requirements it be the same as the physical gender of the participant. I stick to my biological gender because that's who I want to be, and who I know how to be. It makes sense to me in the same way that being gender fluid does to some, and being the opposite does to others.
