Mesh Bodies

Mesh bodies came into SL with the advent of rigged mesh. The first ones were very, very awkward, but as mesh took over, they became the 'better' way. Of course, once there was more than one option, mesh body addicts divided into camps claiming that theirs was the best, the easiest, the most user friendly, etc. Then we get into appliers and mesh heads, but those are another subject entirely.

I ended up going to a mesh body several months back (I know, long time to catch up). In the intervening time, my outfit selection reduced by a little under half due to incompatibilities. I've also only occasionally missed the layer alphas and cursed rigging outright. I haven't noticed any real difference in the lag and load times, and the huds usually work well enough. Of course, I'm sure we'll keep seeing more 'real to life' models emerge as we go, and the default body in SL is improving as well.
